The Eccentric

The Eccentric

Conversations can reveal so many interesting aspects of one’s personality.  What may seem rational during a conversation among family and friends may leave others confused and out of touch while learning the established individual personalities.  This is complicated when one individual in the established group is eccentric with an odd sense of humor and also a very sensitive nature.  We’ll leave education and status out of the equation as the established group does not concede to egotism.  Conversation flows easily from topic to topic as the wine travels throughout the evening from bottle to glass to table. Discussion turns to the upcoming holidays, naturally exchanging tradition among the family and friends as the conversation smoothly circles the table while the wine is passed from glass to glass.  Topic of conversation transitions to the previous Christmas and how the family and friends celebrated. The eccentric offers the answer of “waking up” as the family and friends continue to eat and add to their Christmas experiences.  The newer individual to the group pauses and looks at the eccentric and slowly at the group and pours another glass of Merlot without saying a word.  After the dinner is completed, coffee and desert is offered in the living room and conversation resumes.  Steady flow of conversation, employment goals being met, sports, social networking when eccentric shares her insightful revelation of a new law she discovered.  Apparently to purchase craft paint, you have to be eighteen years of age or older and she goes on to explain the project of dismantling a stuffed bunny to use the red craft paint to simulate dripping blood to mail each limb to her friend  one day at a time, and eccentric is animated while she is explaining her project. The conversation continues to flow as the newer individual leaves the room to pour himself a stiff glass of whiskey while shaking his head in utter disbelief.
